Qualia EMD processing time includes a two-business-day hold. Compare submission and receipt records, Cash to Close timing, and deposit deadlines.
Qualia EMD processing time includes a two-business-day hold for an earnest money deposit, according to the company’s product documentation. Its immediate confirmation shows that the buyer submitted a payment; it does not establish that escrow received the money. Obtain confirmation from the settlement team before reporting the deposit as received.
Qualia announced EMD and Cash to Close on October 22, 2026, with EMD available to all Qualia Core customers and Cash to Close in limited release. As of October 28, broader Cash to Close availability later in 2026 and additional payment products remained plans. Before relying on either timetable, confirm the payment service your closing provider actually uses.
Qualia says the hold helps detect returned payments before money reaches escrow. Buyers can submit payments at night or on weekends, but the product page specifies neither the hold’s exact starting point nor a precise end-to-end arrival deadline. EMD timing and submission features
Before authorizing payment, ask the provider for the expected arrival date for your request and how weekends and holidays affect it. The stated hold alone does not support a promise that funds will reach escrow at a particular hour.
These details concern the newly launched Qualia EMD product. They do not establish the schedule for every payment initiated through a Qualia-enabled closing provider.
Qualia describes Cash to Close as delivering good funds to escrow the same business day, with an explicit exception: payments submitted after 3 p.m. Eastern arrive the next business morning. That timetable is separate from EMD’s hold. Cash to Close timing and cutoff
For this hypothetical example, assume Friday and Monday are ordinary business days, with no intervening holiday:
| Cash to Close submission | What Qualia’s stated schedule implies |
|---|---|
| Friday at 2 p.m. Eastern | Friday arrival |
| Friday at 4 p.m. Eastern | Monday-morning arrival |
These scenarios apply the company’s timetable; they are not observed transaction results. Even the 2 p.m. submission supplies no promise that money will be available for a 2:30 p.m. signing. Ask the settlement team when it needs funds and whether the planned submission leaves enough time.
Check the signed agreement’s deposit clause for the amount, designated recipient, deadline, permitted delivery method, and any definition of timely delivery. Do not assume that the service’s submission timestamp satisfies that clause.
Consider a hypothetical contract requiring escrow to receive a deposit by 5 p.m. Tuesday. A buyer submits it through EMD on Tuesday morning and saves the confirmation. That record documents an action taken before the deadline; it does not establish receipt by 5 p.m. The provider’s processing schedule cannot answer whether the contract’s requirement was met.
Work backward from the required event. If the proposed payment cannot arrive in time, ask the settlement team about an accepted alternative and raise any needed contract amendment promptly. Consult the transaction’s attorney about uncertainty over contractual compliance or an extension.
For Cash to Close, Qualia describes two records: a submission document when the buyer pays, followed by a receipt on the order and general ledger when funds reach the escrow bank account. Qualia’s confirmation workflow
For either product, ask the settlement team for written confirmation identifying:
Retain the buyer’s submission record alongside the receipt. If the records disagree, have the settlement team reconcile them before sending an unqualified “deposit received” update.
Save accessible copies with the transaction records. Our guide to keeping copies of electronically delivered closing documents explains related access and consent considerations.
Qualia’s EMD page lists a $15 portal fee, which the closing company can absorb or pass to the buyer, and says no additional subscription is required. That disclosure is specific to EMD; it does not establish Cash to Close pricing. Qualia EMD pricing
Qualia also says closing companies can retain their existing escrow accounts. That statement does not establish that every buyer’s bank account is eligible. Launch details
The governing terms require a separate check. Qualia’s Banking Terms, last modified July 8, 2026, expressly direct users of Qualia Payments digital services to separate Embedded Payments Customer Terms of Use. The Banking Terms’ provisions for other features should not be treated as the new products’ payment terms.
A publicly accessible copy of those separate terms could not be verified for this article. Before submitting, obtain the applicable terms and confirm buyer-bank eligibility, transaction limits, cancellation and refund procedures, and any Cash to Close fee.
A portal does not authenticate the message that led you there or establish that the entire transaction is fraud-free. Qualia’s launch materials describe intended security benefits; they do not establish a measured reduction in losses for these products.
The CFPB’s mortgage-closing scam guidance recommends checking links and instructions with trusted representatives using previously saved phone numbers. Before connecting a bank account, call your established settlement contact at a number saved independently of the payment message to confirm the request, amount, property, and intended portal.
